Applying for RCB support

Where an ACT employer decides to nominate a skilled overseas worker for a  Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional visa (SESR) in the Employer Sponsored (ES) stream, the nomination must be accompanied by advice from the ACT RCB at time of decision.

The role of a Regional Certifying Body (RCB) is to provide advice to the Department of Home Affairs on the SESR visa, ES stream nomination applications, using local area knowledge to provide advice on whether the nominee for the position will be paid at least the annual market salary rate for the occupation.

The Regional Certifying Body (RCB) assesses information provided by the employer for an RSMS nomination against three criteria to form an opinion on the nominated position. The three criteria are established by the Department of Home Affairs:

• Genuine need;
• Labour market  - position cannot be filled locally; and
• Employment conditions.

The RSMS scheme has ceased.  The RCB can only assess applications for RSMS nomination submitted with Home Affairs on or before 16 November 2019.
